SSA Section 54 — The seven benefit categories
Social Security Act (พระราชบัญญัติประกันสังคม) — Section 54.
Plain-English Summary
Insured persons and those with rights under the Act are entitled to benefits from the Fund in seven categories: (1) injury or illness, including health promotion and disease prevention; (2) childbirth; (3) invalidity; (4) death; (5) child allowance; (6) old age; and (7) unemployment, except for Section 39 insureds. Entitlements cannot be transferred and are not subject to execution. A claim is filed with the Office within two years of becoming entitled (Section 56); the Secretary-General may accept a later claim if the claimant shows sufficient reasons and necessity. Cash benefits not collected within two years of the Office's notice pass to the Fund.

Social Security Act
พระราชบัญญัติประกันสังคม · B.E. 2533 (1990)
The Social Security Act B.E. 2533 (1990) established the Social Security Fund within the Social Security Office (Section 21). The Fund pays benefits to insured persons for illness or injury, childbirth, invalidity, death, child allowance, old age and unemployment (Section 54). Employees aged 15 to 60 are insured compulsorily (Section 33), and former employees and other persons may join voluntarily (Sections 39 and 40). For compulsory insureds the Government, employers and insured persons contribute (Section 46); voluntary Section 39 insureds pay with the Government at a ratio of two parts to one, and the Government's share for Section 40 insureds is capped at half of what they pay. The contribution rates, the wage base and most benefit amounts are set by ministerial regulation or Royal Decree, not in the body of the Act; the Act's annex fixes only maximum contribution rates.
