Despite widespread vaping in other countries, Thailand maintains a complete ban on e-cigarettes, vapes, heated tobacco products, and all related devices and liquids. This is NOT a paper law — tourists are arrested regularly, particularly in popular tourist areas. The penalties are severe and enforcement is increasing.

Airport customs X-ray screening
Thai customs uses X-ray machines that reliably detect vaping devices in luggage. Devices found during screening are confiscated and you face immediate criminal charges. This applies to both arriving and departing passengers.

Tourist area enforcement patrols
