    NBTC regulations, broadcasting, spectrum allocation.

    Overview

Thailand's telecommunications and broadcasting sectors are regulated by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), established under the Act on Organization to Assign Radio Frequency and to Regulate the Broadcasting and Telecommunications Services B.E. 2553 (2010). The NBTC oversees spectrum allocation, licensing of telecom operators and broadcasters, interconnection rules, and consumer protection. The sector has undergone significant liberalization but foreign ownership remains restricted to 49% for telecom operators.
