    — Fund establishment

    A provident fund is established only where the employer and employees agree and register it (Sections 5–6) and has juristic personality (Section 7). (Section 10 governs contributions — the employee plus a matching employer share, 2–15% of wages.)

    — Payout on leaving the fund

    On termination of fund membership the member is paid out, generally as a lump sum within 30 days (Section 23). Vesting of the employer's contributions is left to the fund's own rules, which may not cut employees' rights without good reason (Section 9(6)–(8)).
