Section 4
— Consumer rightsThe five protected consumer rights: correct and sufficient information about goods or services, freedom of choice, safety in use, fairness in contracting, and consideration and compensation for damage.

— Misleading advertising prohibitionAdvertising must not use statements that are unfair to consumers or harmful to society; false or exaggerated statements, and statements likely to mislead in a material respect about the goods or service, are unfair by definition. Under s. 27 the Advertising Committee can order correction, ban statements, prohibit the advertisement, or require corrective advertising.

— Penalty — deceptive advertising/labellingSection 47 punishes intentionally deceptive advertising or labelling with up to 6 months' imprisonment or a fine up to THB 100,000, or both (doubled for a repeat offence). Other advertising breaches fall under Sections 48 and 46.
