Overview
Thailand has strict weapons laws. While gun ownership is legal with a license, carrying weapons in public, possessing unlicensed firearms, or carrying certain knives is illegal.

Important Notes
Foreigners CANNOT obtain Thai firearms licenses — any firearm possession by a foreigner is illegal
Even toy guns and replicas can cause legal problems if they look realistic
Tasers and pepper spray are legal to carry for self-defense
Ammunition possession requires the same license as the firearm
Airport security will confiscate prohibited items — declare if unsure
