When to Use
When buying or selling a vehicle privately in Thailand. Both parties should sign before visiting DLT for registration transfer.
Key Clauses
Vehicle Description
Make, model, year, color, engine number, chassis number — must match the green book (registration book) exactly.
Purchase Price & Payment Method
Total price, payment method (cash/transfer), and payment schedule if installments.
Green Book Transfer
Seller agrees to transfer registration at DLT within X days. Both parties attend or use Power of Attorney.
Outstanding Finance Declaration
Seller declares no liens, loans, or encumbrances on the vehicle. If there is finance, specify how it will be discharged.
Condition & Warranty
Vehicle sold 'as is' or with warranty period. Specify what defects (if any) are disclosed.
Insurance Transfer
Existing insurance policy transfer or cancellation responsibility.
Warnings
Never pay full price before verifying the green book at DLT — check for liens.
If the seller can't produce the original green book, do NOT proceed.
Engine/chassis numbers must match the green book — mismatches indicate stolen vehicles.
