Equal share of marital property (sin somros)
Legal Basis: Civil and Commercial Code, Sections 1474-1484
What To Do: All property acquired during marriage is marital property (50/50) unless a prenuptial agreement states otherwise.
Right to divorce and property division
Legal Basis: Civil and Commercial Code, Sections 1516-1535
What To Do: File for divorce at the District Court. Consensual divorce can be registered at the Amphur.
Right to child custody consideration
Legal Basis: Civil and Commercial Code, Section 1520
What To Do: Courts consider the best interest of the child. Foreign parents have equal standing.
Right to spousal maintenance
