    Ukraine uses a civil law system rooted in the post-Soviet reform tradition, with the Civil Code of Ukraine (2003) and the Constitution of 1996 as foundational instruments. Thailand also uses civil law. Both share codified approaches but differ on EU-style frameworks (Ukraine has been harmonising with EU acquis since the Association Agreement) and personal-rights provisions.
