Document Checklist
Valid passport (original + 2 copies)
Affirmation of Freedom to Marry from your embassy
Must be issued within 3 months. Some embassies require an appointment.
Thai translation of Affirmation (certified by MFA)
Translation must be certified by Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Passport photos (2 each for both parties)
Divorce decree or death certificate (if previously married)
Must be translated into Thai and certified.
Thai national ID card (for Thai spouse)
House registration book (Tabien Baan) for Thai spouse
Two witnesses with valid Thai ID
Prenuptial agreement (if desired)
Must be registered at the same time as the marriage — cannot be added later.
