Visa Extension Documents Checklist
Documents required for extending your visa at Thai Immigration.
Document Checklist
Passport with at least 6 months validity
TM.7 application form
Available at immigration offices or downloadable online
4x6 cm passport photos (2 copies)
Copy of passport pages (photo page, visa page, entry stamp) plus Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) confirmation
The TDAC is completed online before arrival and replaces the old paper TM.6 for foreign air arrivals from 1 May 2025. The departure portion of the TM.6 remains abolished.
THB 1,900 application fee
Proof of accommodation (lease agreement or hotel booking)
Financial evidence (bank statements or income letter)
Required for retirement and marriage visa extensions
TM.30 notification receipt
Your landlord or hotel must have filed this
Letter from employer (for business visa)
Marriage certificate (for marriage visa)
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Applying after the visa has already expired — overstay fines apply immediately
Not having a TM.30 receipt — many immigration offices strictly require this
Bringing photocopies that are not signed by the applicant
